Reprint: News article announcing “Shifting Shorelines” as a 2022 Gold Award Winner

“Shifting Shorelines: Messages from a Wiser Self,” written by Marco Island author Terry Helwig, is a Gold Award Winner of the 2022 Nautilus Book Awards in the Personal Growth category.

For more than 20 years, the prestigious Nautilus Awards celebrate and honor books that promote hope, wisdom, spiritual growth, and inspiration. They believe in “Better Books for a Better World.” The Personal Growth category recognizes works that offer wisdom, insight, and fresh perspectives for navigating life’s journey and challenges.

Helwig’s highly anticipated book, “Shifting Shorelines: Messages from a Wiser Self,” was published by Viva Editions in October of 2021. It has been praised as a twenty-first century classic, comparable to Ann Morrow Lindberg’s, “Gift from the Sea.”

Helwig, a naturalist at heart with a master’s degree in counseling psychology, writes about the solace and well-being she finds at the intersection of mother nature and human nature. She notes, “While my book is about the shoreline of a barrier island, it’s also about the shoreline of life. The judges may have appreciated the messages to my younger self at the end of each chapter that convey how time shapes us and wisdom ripens.” Helwig adds, “It’s thrilling to be part of the Nautilus Awards family of authors. I'm honored and humbled to be among such distinguished company and notable works.”

Award winners were notified in late April and recognized publicly in mid-May on the Nautilus Awards website. To learn more about the Nautilus Awards visit their website at www.nautilusbookawards.com.
